November 7th: MCSD BOE Meeting

Hi All!

I'm sorry it's been so long since I've sent an update on the Gazebo... we have been at the mercy of the MCSD BOE meeting which took place on November 2nd.

Below is the email I received from one of our point contacts on the BOE.

I am going to try and arrange a meeting with them for this week or the following week to discuss next steps.

I know it's short notice, but would any of you be available for a meeting this Tuesday, November 9th at 5.30pm? This meeting would be to catch up in person on what has transpired, and to make a game plan for the meeting with the BOE, and of course brainstorm ideas that any of you may have.

I feel time is of the essence, and we need to keep the ball rolling and act fast, especially with winter coming!

"Sorry for the slow reply. We did discuss the gazebo during the 11/2 BOE meeting. In general the board is supportive of the group's efforts to restore the gazebo. There were no decisions made during the meeting. As a school owned structure there are specific requirements that would need to be followed regarding any potential work (Elliot Garcia articulated these requirements at the meeting). I believe the first steps you were interested in were authorization for an inspection and quotes. Based on the discussion I believe the district would need some more information before moving forward. Perhaps the best next step would be a follow up meeting that included Elliot. Let me know your thoughts and we can discuss when everyone might be available."
